Acro

AcroDance is an exciting and challenging style blending both acrobatic and dance elements together. Technique will be taught through safe progressions outlined in the Acrobatic Arts curriculum by a certified instructor. Students will work on increasing strength and flexibility in order to perform various balance, limbering, tumbling, and partnering skills.

Acro 1

Thursday 4:30-5:15pm

This class, designed for students aged 7-12, will focus on the foundational skills required in the Acrobatic Arts program.

Pom

Pom dance is an energetic and dynamic style of dance that places emphasis on precise and synchronized arm movements, formations, jumps, and skills. It is characterized by its use of poms, which dancers hold in their hands throughout the routine. Students must be enrolled in a jazz class in order to enroll in Pom.

Pom 1

Tuesday 5:30-6:00pm

Pom dance is an energetic and dynamic style of dance that places emphasis on precise and synchronized arm movements, formations, jumps, and skills. It is characterized by its use of poms, which dancers hold in their hands throughout the routine. Enrollment in Pom 1 requires students to be simultaneously enrolled in Jazz 1A, 2B, or 2A  in order to enroll in Pom 1.

Improv and Composition

Coming soon - Spring 2024

This class is a 10-week session for dancers in level 2A classes and up. Learn choreographic tools to develop solo or group work. Classes will focus on improvisation and movement invention, choreographic intention, structuring, use of stage spacing, levels and timing, and music selection. Dancers have the option to explore set choreography or structured, performance improvisation. An in-studio showing of all works on the final day of class. A second session will be offered in the spring. For those that continue with the second session, one composition will be chosen to perform in the June Concert.

Teacher recommendation is not required however student class enrollment should contain a minimum of one 2A level dance class.

House Dance with Alex

Coming Soon - Spring 2024

For ages 12 and up. Dancers in this class will be given a variety of foundational exercises in the style of House Dance.
